At BlueGreen, our team of highly skilled professionals have decades of experience in the affordable housing and real estate industries, all of which compliments each other and allows our team to handle the most complex of transactions. Our team members include:


Vivian M. Lum, Esq. – Chief Executive Officer

Vivian is our Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel. She oversees the operations of BlueGreen and the corresponding legal matters. Vivian has extensive experience in real estate, having first chaired trials involving property and financing disputes at her prior firm, Robertson + Lum, LLP, where she was a partner. Vivian has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for 2009 through 2012, and as a Top Woman Attorney in Southern California in 2012. Vivian graduated with a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a J.D. from Loyola Law School. She is admitted to practice before all the courts in the State of California and before the Central District of California. Vivian is also licensed by the State of California as a real estate broker.

Thomas M. Dean – Director of Finance

Tom is our Director of Finance. He determines the financial feasibility of a project and how to optimize results. Tom has spent a majority of his career in real estate development and affordable housing. He is the President of Real Estate CFO. He is appointed to the Oversight Board of the successor agency to the Orange County Redevelopment Agency. Tom has taught courses at University of California, Los Angeles and Irvine, and was a guest lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has served multiple terms as managing director of the Harvard Business School Alumni Association of Orange County, and continues to sit on their board of directors. Tom graduated with a B.S. from the University of Illinois, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Harold W. Patrick – Director – National Acquisitions and Government Relations

Harold is our Director of National Acquisitions and Government Relations. He is in charge of identifying properties throughout the country that are appropriate for development and facilitating discussions between property owners, stakeholders and BlueGreen. Harold has over 40 years as an entrepreneur and has successfully owned and managed chains of McDonald’s restaurants, developed a chain of Burger King restaurants, was a partner in retail concessions (The Paradise Shops, Baskin & Robbins, etc.) in large international airports, as well as many other successful business ventures which have led him to be recognized with numerous awards and accolades, among them African American Business of the Year in Los Angeles and keys to the cities of Philadelphia and Birmingham. Harold graduated with a B.A. from Hampton University, and the internationally recognized University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business, Ross Minority Program in Real Estate.


Gregory S. Brown – Director – Portfolio Development

Greg is our Director of Portfolio Development. He is in charge of identifying portfolio properties and parcels of land suitable for development. Greg has been licensed by the State of California as a real estate agent since 1986. Greg’s area of focus has been on redevelopment and affordable housing projects. Some of his noteworthy transactions include: the 1,000,000 square foot land acquisition for the Chesterfield Square Redevelopment in South Central Los Angeles; the 23 acre, 30+parcel accumulation and acquisition of real property in the Crenshaw District; acquisition of numerous city blocks and parcels for the purposes of developing affordable housing projects; the accumulation and acquisition of two blocks in South Central Los Angeles for the development of a Los Angeles County Services Office Building; the disposition of the 14 story Park Center Jewelry Building in Downtown Los Angeles; the disposition of REO assets on behalf of numerous financial institutions; and, the three phase relocation of Pyramid Sound to their national distribution facility in the City of Commerce. Prior to joining BlueGreen, Greg was a Senior Vice President at Major Properties from 1986 to 2013 where he was awarded numerous Top Sales Persons Awards. Greg graduated with a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.


Jameela Irene – Project Management Consultant

Jameela is our Project Management Consultant. She is responsible for maintaining the relationships between our company and our non-profit allies. She is also responsible for ensuring the dissemination and receipt of information between our company and our third party vendors, managing the day-to-day requests for information between our company, vendors and lenders, attending and managing site visits and coordinating various efforts related to the development and rehabilitation process. Jameela graduated with a B.A. from Pitzer College.
